Junior Jaycees
 

'Small Service is true service, while it lasts'

Junior Jaycee wing of JCI Salem City, Vysya College was installed in July 2008 with a view to promote leadership and entrepreneurial qualities among student community. It has currently 103 members with 7 office bearers and a staff co-ordinator. Durning the academic year 2008-09 it has arranged several self development programmes on team building, motivation, stress management, attitude and goal setting etc through national trainers form JCI Salem Steel City. It has also organized 3 day Entrepreneurship Development programme and Awareness programme on Anti Terrorism and World Peace.

   
National Service Scheme
 

The NSS unit of our college is lauded as one of the best by periyar University. Ever since its inception, it has been executing a remarkable service for the welfare of the society in general. Our college comprises three NSS units, each of which is headed by a programme officer. About 300 boys and girls have enrolled themselves as volunteers.

The three NSS Units take active participation in programmes such as a 10 Day Special Camp at a Village, Road Safety, Anti Drug Day Rally, Tree Plantation, Meditation, Cleaning Camp, Blood Donation Camp, Aids awareness Programme, Environmental Programme, Medical Camp, Free Eye Camp, First Aid training program, Human Rights, Renewable Energy day, Global warming, Pre-Republic DAy Camp Republic Day Camp and so on.

   
Rotaract Club
 

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they are sponsored by a local Rotary Club (Rotary Club of Salem North). This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary.

As one of Rotary's most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 7,000 clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

  Objectives:
  To develop professional and leadership skills.
  To emphasize respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual.
  To develop Knowledge and understanding of the needs, problems and opportunities in the community and worldwide.
 

To recognize, practice and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities.
